PREFORMED PIPE SECTIONS
Resin bonded Stonewool preformed into rigid,
cylindrical sections. The pipes are supplied plain,
however can be covered with canvas where painting/
colour coding is required, or covered with aluminium
foil where a vapour barrier is required. Special additive
is used to give the pipes high resistance to the ingress
and absorption of water. This water repellency is an
integral feature of the insulation and not simply a
surface treatment.
QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM |
| Isover products are manufactured according to ISO
9001:2000. |
FEATURES & BENEFITS |
- Low thermal conductivity across a wide temperature
range
- Reduces heat loss/gain for energy conservation
- Controlling temperatures to preserve process
conditions and/or prevent excess temperature drops
- Prevent condensation inside or outside pipes
and ducts
- Excellent sound absorption properties for noise control purposes
- Protection of personnel and structures by controlling the surface
temperature of processing systems
- Non-hygroscopic

FIRE PROPERTIES |
|
Non-combustible - tested to SABS 0177 Part V
|
THERMAL PROPERTIES |
| Refer to Stonewool nomographs for pipe sections. |
ACCOUSTIC PROPERTIES |
|
Will provide effective acoustical insulation where there
is a need to reduce noise levels from pipe work. Actual
performance varies with thickness and surface finish.
|
APPLICATIONS |
|
Thermal and acoustic insulation of pipe work in power generation, oil
refineries, chemical plants and on industrial steam and process pipe work. |
DURABILITY |
- Will not sustain vermin
- Will not breed or promote fungi, mould or bacteria
- Will not settle under vibration
- Rot proof
- Dimensionally stable but care must be exercised to
limit moisture ingress as this not only compromises
the structural integrity but interferes with the
thermal resistance properties of the product as well
|
CORROSIVITY |
| Stonewool falls within the acceptable zone of the
Westinghouse-Karnes diagram and thus it can be considered as a non-aggressive
and also as non-corrosive, unless influenced by external factors - Stonewool
pipes typically contain less than 5ppm chloride |

Pipe Sizes |
| Available in a wide range of standard nominal bore steel
pipe diameters over a range of insulation thickness. Please refer to price list
or supplier for details. Copper and pipe insulation available on request. |
HANDLING & STORAGE |
| All Stonewool products should be stored and handled with
care to maintain ex-works quality. The packaging will provide some protection,
but care should be taken to keep the material dry at all times. Extra protection
should always be provided when storing the product outdoors. Iron |
