INSULBOARD
Resin bonded, semi-rigid stonewool boards/slabs. The
board is supplied plain, however on request it can be
faced with reinforced kraft/aluminium foil, tissue or
woven glass cloth to suit specific applications.
QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM |
| Isover products are manufactured according to ISO
9001:2000. |
FEATURES & BENEFITS |
- Excellent thermal resistance across a wide
temperature range
- Reduces heat loss/gain for energy conservation
- Controlling temperatures to preserve process
conditions and/or prevent excess temperature drops
- Prevents condensation formation inside or outside
pipes and ducts
- Excellent sound absorption properties in noise control applications
- Protection of personnel and structures by controlling
the surface temperature of processing systems
- Chemically inert and when applied under controlled
conditions would not promote or cause corrosion
- Excellent fire resistance properties
|
FIRE PROPERTIES |
|
Non-combustible - tested to SABS 0177 Part V
|
THERMAL PROPERTIES |
| Refer to Stonewool nomographs. |
ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE |
|
Has excellent sound absorption characteristics which
will provide effective acoustic insulation where a
reduction in noise levels is required. |
APPLICATIONS |
|
Thermal insulation of process plant and equipment. Suitable for application on
flat or slightly curved surfaces. Suitable for increasing the fire resistance of
lightweight building elements eg. partition walls. - |
CORROSIVITY |
- Stonewool falls within the acceptable zone of the
Westinghouse-Karnes diagram and thus it can be
considered as non-aggressive and also as
non-corrosive, unless influenced by external factors
- Insulboard typically contains less than 3ppm
chloride
|
DURABILITY |
- Will not sustain vermin
- Will not breed or promote fungi, mould or bacteria
- Will not settle under vibration
- Rot proof
- Dimensionally stable but care must be exercised to
limit moisture ingress as this not only compromises
the structural integrity but also interferes with the
thermal resistance properties of the product

HANDLING & STORAGE |
| All Stonewool products should be stored and handled with
care to maintain ex-works quality. The packaging will provide some protection,
but care should be taken to keep the material dry at all times. Extra protection
should always be provided when storing the product outdoors. |
